The training of university teachers for attention to diversity in higher education

The social and educational changes of the last decades have increased a number of responsibilities in education professional to develop the training process through quality pedagogical practices. In this sense, it is necessary that institutions of higher education, implement programs of teacher training and have functional mechanisms to address diversity. The objective of this article bibliographic review is to perform a descriptive and critical analysis on the training of university teachers in the Latin American context for boarding students in disability condition, indigenous peoples, Afro-descendants, sexual diversity and emigrants in the higher education. Teacher professionalization requires coherent governmental and institutional policies to obtain basic competences in terms of attention to diversity in learning spaces. It is necessary to carry out deeper research processes to generate a conception from another perspective about diversity.
