Abstract

This study was made under the assumption that there is a relationship between teachers´ professionalization, suitability and the quality of their performance evaluated by students. It was an explanatory and correlational investigation, where was exposed the situation and characteristics of the professionalization and the suitability of teachers from the Departamento de Humanidades y Sociedad de la Escuela Preparatoria No.12 (EP12) of the Universidad de Guadalajara, and how these influenced evaluations that students made at the end of cycles 16B and 17A. Results indicated that teachers with the best profile were better evaluated by the students. However, professionalization did not turn out to be a decisive factor in obtaining a better evaluation.
