Abstract

This paper are presented the current developments of an undergraduate dissertation about the learning of the ecosystem concept, using the pedagogic strategy of Learning based on projects (PBL) by students of the Institución Educativa La Huerta, Medellín, Colombia. This report presents student alternative conceptions which were discovered from the use of environmental cartography. The research was done with 35 students from the seventh grade, from which 3 case studies were taken for the analysis of the information by the study of interpretative case methodology. Some of the results obtained during this initial phase are related to the categories of biotope-biotic and the spatial position which are going to be described throughout the present article.
