Abstract
A comparative study was conducted among university students with high academic performance (HAP) and low academic performance (LAP) to determine the differences between both groups in relation to academic self-efficacy and their academic performance. A total of 594 university students participated in this study, of which 60 were in the HAP subgroup and LAP with 60 others. The results suggest that academic self-efficacy perceived in the attention factor and the excellence factor differentiate the HAP from the LAP and the Academic self-efficacy in these two factors is positively related to academic performance.
