Abstract
This document presents an analysis, amongst the interests of the students and the middle school’s general curriculum. This study was made taking a sample from four middle schools from the municipality of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua. The students were questioned about their interests, in order to do be able to contrast the answers with specialized literature. The theorists think education must focus on the student and their interests, but the middle school’s curriculum from 1974 to present day, has given relevance to scientific knowledge, dedicating most of the time, spaces, and infrastructure to it. On the other hand, subjects as art, technology, sports, and morals are given fewer resources. This research was able to prove the interests of the students are more inclined to art, sport, technology, and morals. The students prefer spaces, time and infrastructure that allows them to socialize, under a schedule which allows them to be awake, to attend with compromise and passion the activities they prefer and not the logical, rational, analytical ones, part of the left brain. The student’s behavior: restless, distracted, violent, begging, imploring, to be allowed to play, imagine, create, discover and innovate.
